Exciting opportunity alert! We are looking for an experienced and motivated Glazer to join our manufacturing team in Blackburn! If you have strong attention to detail, practical skills and experience working with glass within a window, door or construction environment, this could be the opportunity for you.
As a Glazer, you will be responsible for preparing, fitting and finishing glass units to a high standard while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
Measure, cut and fit glass into UPVC and aluminium windows, doors and other glazing products.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Install double-glazed and sealed glass units accurately and securely.
Use glazing tools, equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
Apply sealants, gaskets, beads and other glazing materials to achieve a quality finish.
Inspect glass and finished products for defects, damage and compliance with quality standards.
Handle, store and transport glass safely to prevent damage and reduce waste.
Work to production schedules and meet agreed quality and output targets.
Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with health and safety requirements.
Report damaged materials, equipment faults or production issues to the team leader or manager.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the manufacturing team.
Essential skills and experience
Previous experience as a Glazer or in a similar glass, window or door manufacturing role.
Experience working with UPVC, aluminium windows and doors or double-glazed units is desirable.
Good understanding of glazing techniques, materials and equipment.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good practical and manual handling skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Ability to follow health and safety procedures, particularly when handling glass.
Reliable, organised and willing to learn new processes and techniques.
Basic English and numeracy skills.
Physically fit, as the role involves lifting and moving glass in line with manual handling guidance.
