Kirsty joined GAP in 2021 as a cleaner in our offices. Her talent for communication and connecting with people was clear from the start, and she was soon snapped up by our customer support team. Still driven by a passion for people, she moved into recruitment in 2025 and now heads up volume recruitment across depot and manufacturing, working alongside the wider People team at our Blackburn head office.

GAP has been trading since 1993 and now runs over 110 depots with 1,000+ co-workers. Depots hire from the towns they serve, and the products we supply are low-maintenance building products built to last decades, not seasons.
Team events
Sports Day, team celebrations and staff events across the business — 2026 brought darts, archery, shot put, egg and spoon, a relay obstacle course and an epic tug of war.

Built to last
We supply low-maintenance PVC-U and aluminium building products — materials chosen for a long service life, and PVC-U can be recycled several times over at end of life.
Local delivery
Trade customers are served from their nearest depot rather than a distant central hub, so deliveries are local runs made by the depot's own drivers.

Grow inside GAP
Many of our people have moved into management, specialist roles or completely new departments.
Do I need a CV?
Yes — every role is applied for through our careers site and the form asks for your CV. You can apply for more than one role.
Do I need trade experience?
No. We'll teach you the products and the job — you bring the graft and the attitude. Plenty of us started with neither.
What hours will I work?
It depends on the role — depot vacancies list their hours, and many are around 41.5 hours a week including one in two Saturdays. Head Office roles are standard office hours.
What licence do I need to drive for GAP?
Each vacancy states it. Trade counter driver roles usually ask for a full UK manual licence with no more than 6 points; some depots run 7.5t vehicles, and those adverts say so.
When will I hear back?
Every application is reviewed by our recruitment team and the hiring depot, and we come back to you either way. Timings vary with how many roles a depot is filling.
Do you sponsor work visas?
Not currently — you'll need the right to work in the UK before applying.
